NWA Florida Tag Team Champions (Koloff and Saito)

Ivan Koloff and Mr. (Masa) Saito held the NWA Florida Tag Team champions on 3 different occasions.

They won the belts the first time in defeating Rocky Johnson and Pedro Morales in 1977.
They lost the belts to Mike Graham and Steve Keirn and then won them back in a rematch, all in 1977.  Graham and Keirn vacated the titles later in 1977 and on December 6th 1977 Koloff and Saito won a tournament final over the Masked Marauders to win their 3rd and final Florida Tag Team championship.

Here is that tournament as shown on Florida Championship Wrestling TV, narrated by the legendary Gordon Solie.

NWA World Tag Team Champions (Flair and Valentine)

Ric Flair and Greg Valentine were a hated combination that managed to defeat the legendary Minnesota Wrecking Crew (Gene and Ole Anderson) twice for the NWA Tag Team Titles

Their first title reign started with a defeat of the Wrecking Crew on December 26th 1976 in Greensboro, NC and last 133 days until they lost the belts back to the the Anderson on May 8th 1977 (below) in a cage with special guest referee Wahoo McDaniel.  After losing the belts on a botch suplex by Flair they proceeded to beat up McDaniel and the Andersons until Paul Jones made the save.  Ole was stretchered out due to the bad suplex that "injured" his neck.

Valentine and Flair won the belts from the Andersons again for the titles on October 30th 1977, also in Greensboro, NC.  This reign lasted for 153 days until they were stripped of the belts due to continually ending their title matches in disqualifications (and Flair moved into the running for the NWA World Heavyweight Title),

Match of the Night (Steiner Brothers vs The Nasty Boys)

WCW Halloween Havoc 1990

The US Tag Team Champions The Steiner Brothers put the titles on the line against The Nasty Boys in the always loud and rowdy Chicago Illinois.

The UIC Pavilion was home to Halloween Havoc in 1990 and as usual the Chicago fans were very loud and into all the matches. This tremendous tag team match that evoked visions of 2 other Chicago love teams The Road Warriors and The Bruiser and Crusher.

Also this pays tribute to one of, if not THE greatest wrestling announcer and play by play man, Good Ol JR, Jim Ross.  He announced his retirement from wrestling announcing today and he has and will be missed at ringside.  He made every match seem like it was main event material and made you believe you were watching history every night.

AWA World Tag Team Champions

The Vachon Brothers, Maurice "Mad Dog" Vachon and Paul "The Butcher" Vachon held the AWA World Tag Team belts for a record 623 consecutive days.
They won the belts on August 30th 1969 in Chicago when they managed to defeat the reigning champions Dick the Bruiser and The Crusher.   This ended the Bruiser and Crushers 4th stint as AWA Champions.

The Vachon Brothers held the belts until May 15th 1971 when they lost them to the team of Red Bastien and Hercules Cortez  (below) in Milwaukee, WI.
