1976 - WWWF ran at Madison Square Garden in New York City with the following results:
- Louis Cerdan defeated Johnny Rodz.
- Tony Parisi defeated Baron Mikel Scicluna.
- Dominic DeNucci defeated Louis Cyr.
- Ric Flair defeated Frankie Williams.
- Bobo Brazil defeated Rocky Tomayo.
- Superstar Billy Graham & Ivan Koloff defeated Haystacks Calhoun & Pat Barrett by countout.
- Andre The Giant defeated Ernie Ladd via countout.

- Stan Hansen defeated WWWF World Champion Bruno Sammartino when the referee stopped the match due to excessive bleeding.  Because there was no pinfall or submission, Sammartino retained the title.  This was the bout where Hansen accidentally broke Bruno's neck with a bodyslam.  However, the storyline would be that Hansen broke Sammartino's neck with the Lariat clothesline.

WCW 1994 Spring Stampede

Today in 1994 WCW helds it Spring Stampeded PPV at the Rosemont Horizon in Chicago IL.


- Johnny B. Badd pinned Diamond Dallas Page (with The Diamond Doll) with a sunset flip.

- WCW World Television Champion Lord Steven Regal (with Sir William) fought Brian Pillman to a 15-minute time-limit draw to retain the title.

- WCW World Tag Team Champions The Nasty Boys (Brian Knobbs and Jerry Sags) defeated Cactus Jack and Maxx Payne in a Chicago Street Fight, when Sags pinned Jack after hitting him with a shovel, to retain the title.

- WCW United States Heavyweight Champion Steve Austin (with Col. Robert Parker) defeated The Great Muta by disqualification to retain the title, after Muta threw Austin over the top rope.

- Sting pinned WCW International World Heavyweight Champion Rick Rude to win the title, after Harley Race accidentally hit Rude with a chair. This ended Rude's second reign.

- Bunkhouse Buck (with Col. Robert Parker) pinned Dustin Rhodes in a Bunkhouse match after hitting him with brass knuckles.
- Vader (with Harley Race) pinned The Boss.

- WCW World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair and Ricky Steamboat fought to a no-contest due to a double-pin. The title was vacated due to the finish, ending Flair's second reign.

Extreme Rules 2012

The 2012 WWE Extreme Rules PPV will be held this year on April 29th at the Allstate Arena (formerly the Rosemont Horizon) in Rosemont Illinois.


The 2 matches set so far are John Cena vs Brock Lesnar and for the World Heavyweight Title, Sheamus will defend against former champion Daniel Bryan.

Royal Rumble 2012 Announcement

A steel cage match for the World Heavyweight Championship has been set for the Royal Rumble next Sunday January 29th in St Louis Missouri.


World Champion Daniel Bryan will face The Big Show and Mark Henry at the Scottrade Center in St Louis.

Halloween Havoc 1991

WCW helds its annual Halloween Havoc PPV at the UTC Arena in Chattanooga TN on October 27th


The main event of the card was #1 contender Ron Simmons facing WCW World Champion Lex Luger.

"Macho Man" Randy Savage

Yesterday about this time was the tragic end of the life of pro wrestling icon "Macho Man" Randy Savage.



Pending an autopsy, there is speculation that he suffered a heart attack while driving and slammed into a tree.  He died later at the hospital from his injuries.
He was only 58 years old but he left us an incredible body of work in and out of the ring that will live forever on DVD, dusty VHS tapes and Youtube.
Born Randy Mario Poffo he made a run at pro baseball but never rose past Single A level.  After retiring from that he bulked up and joined his father, Angelo Poffo, in the world of pro wrestling.   From early on he was targeted as a special performer and the only limits were those he imposed on himself.
He would arrive in the WWF n 1985 and for 7 years he and Hulk Hogan were THE wrestlers to see.  From his fued with Hulk Hogan over the WWF Title to his historic match with Ricky Steamboat at Wrestlemania 3, he gave 100% every night and made sure all the fans went home with something to remember.

Savage would go on to WCW and hold the World Heavyweight title and join the infamous NWO but he never slacked or took a night off.    He quietly retired from action in the ring and never made a "comeback" to tarnish what everyone remember of him.   Like he wrestled, he did what he said he was going to do and when he left he stayed gone.
We all would loved to see him again, he was one of the all time greats on the microphone and ringside commentary.  For reasons known only to Vince McMahon, Randy Savage has yet to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame when wrestlers with no connection to the WWF/WWE have been inducted for years, he still remains outside.   He should have gone in with Hulk Hogan or at least the next year because Vince can say he owes what he has now to Hogan and Savage and what they did in the 80s to make him THE force in pro wrestling.
