Tom Zenk, Johnny Gunn and Shane Douglas defeated Arn Anderson, Michael Hayes and Bobby Eaton (11:02)

• • Gunn pinned Hayes.
• Ricky Steamboat defeated Brian Pillman (10:25)
  • Steamboat pinned Pillman.
• Big Van Vader defeated Nikita Koloff (11:35)
  • Vader pinned Koloff.
  • Vader was defending the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship for Rick Rude, who complained about having to wrestle twice.
  • This was also a No Disqualification Match and Madusa was barred from ringside.
• NWA and WCW World Tag Team Champions Barry Windham and Dustin Rhodes fought Steve Williams and Steve Austin to a time-limit draw (30:00)^[5]
  • Windham and Rhodes retained the titles.
  • Austin was subbing for Terry Gordy, who no-showed the event.^[5]
  • It was originally scheduled to be Williams and Gordy vs. The Steiner Brothers, but was changed after Rick Steiner suffered a torn chest muscle during a Japanese tour, and Windham and Rhodes won the titles from Williams and Gordy on the October 3 edition of WCW Saturday Night, making Williams and Gordy challenge Windham and Rhodes to a rematch for the titles.^[6]
• Rick Rude (with Madusa) defeated NWA World Heavyweight Champion Masahiro Chono (with Hiro Matsuda) (with Harley Race and Kensuke Sasaki as special guest referees) by disqualification (22:23)
  • Chono was disqualified by Race for throwing Rude over the top rope, Chono retained the title.
  • Rude's WCW United States Heavyweight Championship was not on the line, despite being the champion.
  • After the match, Sasaki attacked Rude and Race.
• Ron Simmons (with Teddy Long) defeated The Barbarian (with Cactus Jack) to retain the WCW World Heavyweight Championship (12:41)
  • Simmons pinned Barbarian.
• Sting defeated Jake Roberts in a Coal Miner's Glove match (10:34)
  • Sting pinned Roberts after Roberts was bitten by his own snake.
  • This was a "Spin the Wheel, Make a Deal" match with the match type determined by spinning wheel.
  • The match was kayfabe unsanctioned by WCW.

Match of the Night (Steiner Brothers vs The Nasty Boys)

WCW Halloween Havoc 1990

The US Tag Team Champions The Steiner Brothers put the titles on the line against The Nasty Boys in the always loud and rowdy Chicago Illinois.

The UIC Pavilion was home to Halloween Havoc in 1990 and as usual the Chicago fans were very loud and into all the matches. This tremendous tag team match that evoked visions of 2 other Chicago love teams The Road Warriors and The Bruiser and Crusher.

Also this pays tribute to one of, if not THE greatest wrestling announcer and play by play man, Good Ol JR, Jim Ross.  He announced his retirement from wrestling announcing today and he has and will be missed at ringside.  He made every match seem like it was main event material and made you believe you were watching history every night.

Halloween Havoc 1990

The 2nd annual Halloween Havoc was held on Oct 27th 1990 at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago Illinois and featured 2 brutal main event matches.


The first was for the NWA US Tag Team Titles. 
Champions, The Steiner Brothers defended against The Nasty Boys.   The Steiners invoked their inner Bruiser and Crusher as they jumped the Nasty Boys before the bell rang and never let up.  


The crowd for this entire card was over the top excited and made this one of the best PPVs in a long time.





The #1 main event for this Halloween Havoc was NWA World Champion Sting meeting Sid Vicious for the that Heavyweight Title.

Halloween Havoc 1996 (Match of the Day)

Our match of the day features the previously mentioned Scott Hall along with his partner in crime, Kevin Nash in their last glory days in WCW.  They were known as the Outsiders and here they face the WCW World Tag Team champions Harlem Heat.

Here from October 24th 1993, the main event from WCW's Halloween Havoc PPV.  Held in New Orleans, this featured the "Spin the Wheel-Make The Deal" match for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship.


The match after the spin of the wheel was a Texas Death Match

WCW helds its annual Halloween Havoc PPV at the UTC Arena in Chattanooga TN on October 27th


The main event of the card was #1 contender Ron Simmons facing WCW World Champion Lex Luger.

Halloween Havoc 1993

This week in 1993 (Oct 24th) WCW held the annual Halloween Havoc PPV. This year it was at the Lake Front Arena in New Orleans Louisana.


As seemed to be the way this was a mostly forgettable PPV and the main event was a Texas Death Match between Big Van Vader and Cactus Jack.

Halloween Havoc 1992

Today is the 17th anniversary of the end of the wrestling career of Nikita Koloff. The end came at the hands of Big Van Vader at this Halloween Havoc. Unbeknownst to the wrestling public at the time but during his match with Vader this night, Koloff suffered a herniated disk after a Vader clothesline. He later aggravated that injury by trying to powerslam Vader. This injury ended the brief and stellar career of "The Russian Nightmare".
