 This magazine was one of my favorites back in the 80s when I subscribed to 4 magazines: PWI, The Wrestler, Inside Wrestling and Sports Review Wrestling.  I was going to subscribe to Wrestling Eye, but they went out of business before  I could.

Pro Wrestling Illustrated 1984 Wrestler of the Year

This was The Nature Boy's 2nd of an eventual 6 Wrestler of the Year Awards from PWI.  His first was for 1981 followed by 1984, 85, 86, 89, and 1992.  He has by far the most Wrestler of the Year awards followed by "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and A.J. Styles with 3 apiece.

This was my favorite magazine when it was first published because of the "Phantom of the Ring" column.  That column was the magazine version of "The Wrestling Observer" and gave us tidbits on the real lives of wrestlers.  This was something I never seen before and was in love with it from the start.
