Today marks the 15 anniversary of the death of "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert.
Thomas Edward Gilbert Jr was born in 1961 in Lexington TN. He grew up idolizing Jerry "The King" Lawler who was the Memphis wrestling legend and was booking shows in 1979 when Eddie broke into the sport.
His short life was filled with great matches and a work ethic beyond his years. He also became a well respected booking agent. He was famously married to Missy Hyatt who was a wrestling diva long before the term existed.
His died in Puerto Rico in 1995 from a heart attack.
