Won the 1st time on September 25th 1994 defeating Pretty Wonderful (Paul Orndorff and Paul Roma) in Atlanta GA and held the belts for 28 days.

Lost the belts in a rematch on October 23rd 1994 at Halloween Havoc in Detroit MI.  Held the belts for 22 days and lost them for a final time on December 8th 1994 in Atlanta GA to Harlem Heat.

2000 – Vince Russo defeated Booker T in a Cage Match to win the WCW World Heavyweight Championship

2000 - The Natural Born Thrillers (Sean O’Haire & Mark Jindrak) win a battle royal to win the vacant WCW World Tag Team Championship

2001 – Booker T & Test defeated The Brothers of Destruction (The Undertaker & Kane) to win the WCW (WWF) World Tag Team Championship

2006 – The Pro Wrestling Noah GHC Tag Team Championship is vacated when one-half of the reigning champions, Kenta Kobashi is diagnosed with kidney cancer

2007 –The WWE Cruiserweight Title is vacated by Smackdown General Manager Vickie Guerrero. This would be the final time that the belt would appear on WWE programming, though it wouldn’t be officially retired until the following year

2010 – "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal defeated The Amazing Red to win the TNA X-Division Championship

In Your House:Ground Zero

Today is the 12th anniversary of the WWF PPV In Your House: Ground Zero. It took place at the Louisvill Gardens Arena in Louisville KY. Although the main event featured Shawn Michaels against the Undertaker the hightlight for most wrestling fans was the WWF Title match between champion Bret Hart and the Patriot (Del Wilkes).
I have posted the lead up to the match with some good video of too many wrestlers either retired due to injuries (Wilkes/Hart) to dying too young (Pillman,Davey Boy). The big thing to notice is how much has changed in the 12 years since this card. The crowds arent has "hot" for guys like this anymore and the talent level is much higher as its spread all over this PPV event.
Injuries cut short the career of Wilkes who had been around only about 10 years but was a major player for the brief time he had in the WWF.
