NBC UNIVERSAL’S EXCLUSIVE WINDOW FOR WWE TV EXPIRES
- On Friday, NBC Universal’s exclusive window to renew all WWE programming
came to an end, and unless they coughed up the money that WWE was looking
for, the company is now in a position to deal with other potential
networks. WWE has not announced that it has reached a deal and more likely
will not announce anything until April judging from previous comments from
WWE executives. All WWE shows were timed to expire together for the first
time ever so whoever gets to win the deal will get all the WWE
programming. WWE left Spike TV back in October 2005 and moved back “home”
to USA Network, which hosted RAW since its inception back in 1993. WWE is
looking to at least double the money on their current deal and networks
will be fighting for their shows considering they bring in the desired
ratings in the most important demographic in television.
WWE AND MATTEL EXTEND AGREEMENT
- WWE and Mattel announced a multi-year extension of their global master
toy licensing agreement that will go through 2019. Mattel has owned the
WWE rights for action figures and toys since 2009 after taking over from
JAKKS Pacific. Since then, WWE action figures have ranked as the number 1
action figure property in the U.S. and consistently hold a top ranking.
“WWE and Mattel’s action figure line is consistently ranked in the top two
thanks to our creative marketing campaigns, tremendous retail support and
seamless infusion of cutting-edge innovations,” said Doug Wadleigh, Senior
Vice President, Global Brands Marketing, Boys and Entertainment for
Mattel. “We are excited to continue our partnership with WWE as they
expand their global footprint and leverage our global scale to deliver WWE
toys to kids around the world.”
SCOTT HALL EXPECTED TO BE ANNOUNCED FOR HOF
- Scott Hall, one of the founding members of the nWo, is expected to be
announced as an inductee of the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2014. Hall noted
on Twitter that himself, Jake “The Snake” Roberts, Amy “Lita” Dumas, and
The Ultimate Warrior all got the Verified status by Twitter at the same
time, and the only thing that links those individuals is that they’re all
HOF inductees. Scott Hall had a pretty rough couple of years but thanks to
Diamond Dallas Page he got his life back together and is looking better
than ever. Hall also tweeted a message to his friends Kevin Nash and X-Pac
saying, “Hey yo..@RealKevinNash and @TheRealXPac wanna have a Wolfpac
reunion in New Orleans during WM? #Kliq”
HBO PICKS UP DWAYNE JOHNSON’S DRAMEDY BALLERS
- Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has announced that HBO has picked up his pilot
of the show titled Ballers, a half-hour dramedy series looking into the
lives of a group of former and current football players. The former WWE
champion is the lead star and also once of the executive producers of the
series. Mark Wahlberg will also be serving as executive producer along
with Steve Levinson, Peter Berg, Evan Reilly, and Johnson’s ex-wife Dany
Garcia. Omar Benson Miller, John David Washington, Rob Corddry, Troy
Garity, Donovan Carter, Jazmyn Simon, Taylor Cole and LeToya Luckett will
be playing the other main characters of the show which will start filming
later this year.
SHANE MCMAHON ALMOST LOSES $20 MILLION IN FRAUDULENT DEAL- Shane McMahon, the former WWE Executive Vice President of Global Media,
should thank his lucky stars as he just saved $20 million of his own money
after a fraudulent deal was uncovered. McMahon was part of an investor
group led by former Wall Street stockbroker Calvin Darden Jr that were
going to purchase the popular Maxim Magaine. Darden - who was already
convicted of a fraud scheme back in 2005 and spent time in prison -
received $8 million for the acquisition from other investors according to
Bloomberg and was trying to get $20 million out of McMahon. Darden didn’t
get the necessary cash in time and missed several deadlines to purchase
Maxim and eventually the deal - which was never going to happen - fell
through. Eventually Darden surrendered to federal authorities on February
12 after federal agents went on a manhunt to snatch him. Prosecutors say
that Darden fabricated paperwork and impersonated lenders and lied to
investors in the scheme to take over Maxim Magazine. Shane McMahoncurrently occupies the position of Chairman of YOU On Demand.

CM PUNK REGAINS GOLD, THE ROCK SHAKES THE GARDEN
- Here are the results from yesterday's 25th annual Survivor Series which
took place at Madison Square Garden on pay-per-view: Dolph Ziggler defeated
John Morrison to retain the U.S. title; Beth Phoenix defeated Eve to retain
the Divas title in a lumberjack match; Team Barrett with Wade Barrett, Cody
Rhodes, Hunico, Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger defeated Team Orton with
Randy Orton, Sheamus, Kofi Kingston, Sin Cara and Mason Ryan in a
traditional five on five elimination match. Barrett and Rhodes were the two
surviving members of the winning team; Big Show defeated Mark Henry via
disqualification in the World Heavyweight title match thus title doesn't
change hands; CM Punk defeated Alberto Del Rio to become the new WWE
champion; and John Cena and The Rock defeated The Miz and R-Truth in the
main event.
SIN CARA OUT FOR SIX TO NINE MONTHS
- Sin Cara will be out for the majority of the next year after suffering a
ruptured patella tendon during the traditional five on five Survivor Series
elimination match yesterday. WWE.COM listed six to nine months on the shelf
for the Mexican luchador who had the worse of starts for his WWE career.
After much hype for his signing from CMLL, Sin Cara was suspended for thirty
days after failing the Wellness Program test just two months after making
his WWE debut. His rocky performances continued with a lot of botched spots
and re-takes on Smackdown and yesterday was no different as Sin Cara tried
to leap over the top rope but didn't have enough height, got tangled in the
ropes and crashed down hard.
THE ROCK THANKS FANS AFTER THE SURVIVOR SERIES
- After Survivor Series went off the air, The Rock spent a few more minutes
in the ring and cut a short promo for the New York crowd. Fans chanted "you
still got it," "welcome back," and "thank you Rock" before turning to a "we
want Ryder" chant, with Rocky acknowledging the Ryder chant saying he's a
fan too. One fan yelled at The Rock "don't cry" which resulted in a lot of
laughter from fans and The Rock himself who assured the guy that he wasn't
going to cry. The Rock thanked the fans and said he's back to entertain the
people. He called November 20, 2011 as the greatest moment in the history of
his WWE career. The Rock then shook hands with fans and WWE employees at
ringside before heading to the back.
MICK FOLEY ON NBC's "30 ROCK"
- Mick Foley will be appearing on an upcoming episode of NBC's "30 Rock" TV
show after he revealed that he filmed scenes for it last week in New York.
Foley will be reprising his old WWE gimmick of Mankind for the episode which
also involves his first ever kissing scene! The hardcore legend is the first
wrestling start to appear on the popular NBC show starring Alec Baldwin,
Tina Fey and Tracy Morgan. Judah Friedlander, another cast member from the
show, was at the Survivor Series yesterday. Foley was also present but never
appeared on camera.

Updates
Survivor Series 2011 will now feature The Rock and John Cena together in a 5 on 5 classic survivor series match. I am sure this will not end good and set up the WM match that is already scheduled.

The upcoming Steve Austin DVD has got itself a new artwork selected by the WWE Hall of Famer himself.
Titled "Stone Cold Steve Austin: The Bottom Line on the Most Popular Superstar of All Time," this four disc - yes, four disc - DVD set will be the last ever Austin WWE DVD produced and will be released nationwide on November 29.
Austin selected all the matches and content for this set and served as a producer as well. The disc will also be available in Blu-Ray format as well.

FLAIR TO UNDERGO SURGERY NEXT WEEK
- Ric Flair will be undergoing surgery next week according to the Charleston
Post Courier to repair a torn triceps from the aftermath of his original
injury of a broken bursa sack in his elbow. The injury occurred when he took
a superplex from Sting during the IMPACT Wrestling tapings. "I thought it
was getting better but the swelling just wouldn't go away," Flair told Mike
Mooneyham at the Post Courier. Flair said he never tore anything except the
rotator cuff during his long and storied career. He blames the injury on not
working enough and said it's "no big deal" as it could have been much more
worse.

- Dwayne Johnson has been tapped to portray country singer Charley Pride in
a biography movie, taking the place of Terrence Howard who was supposed to
be the lead actor. The casting news was confirmed by Pride himself who said
that while Howard is a more in-depth actor academically, The Rock is a force
on screen. "It startled me a little at first, but he flew down to Dallas and
spent a day with me just sitting, talking recently. And when he left it was
like parting with an old friend. We had such similar views on so many
things," the 73 year old Grammy Award winner said.
