News and Notes November 22nd 2011 After Survivor Series

thanks to the wrestling online network

CM PUNK REGAINS GOLD, THE ROCK SHAKES THE GARDEN
- Here are the results from yesterday's 25th annual Survivor Series which
took place at Madison Square Garden on pay-per-view: Dolph Ziggler defeated
John Morrison to retain the U.S. title; Beth Phoenix defeated Eve to retain
the Divas title in a lumberjack match; Team Barrett with Wade Barrett, Cody
Rhodes, Hunico, Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger defeated Team Orton with
Randy Orton, Sheamus, Kofi Kingston, Sin Cara and Mason Ryan in a
traditional five on five elimination match. Barrett and Rhodes were the two
surviving members of the winning team; Big Show defeated Mark Henry via
disqualification in the World Heavyweight title match thus title doesn't
change hands; CM Punk defeated Alberto Del Rio to become the new WWE
champion; and John Cena and The Rock defeated The Miz and R-Truth in the
main event.

SIN CARA OUT FOR SIX TO NINE MONTHS
- Sin Cara will be out for the majority of the next year after suffering a
ruptured patella tendon during the traditional five on five Survivor Series
elimination match yesterday. WWE.COM listed six to nine months on the shelf
for the Mexican luchador who had the worse of starts for his WWE career.
After much hype for his signing from CMLL, Sin Cara was suspended for thirty
days after failing the Wellness Program test just two months after making
his WWE debut. His rocky performances continued with a lot of botched spots
and re-takes on Smackdown and yesterday was no different as Sin Cara tried
to leap over the top rope but didn't have enough height, got tangled in the
ropes and crashed down hard.

THE ROCK THANKS FANS AFTER THE SURVIVOR SERIES
- After Survivor Series went off the air, The Rock spent a few more minutes
in the ring and cut a short promo for the New York crowd. Fans chanted "you
still got it," "welcome back," and "thank you Rock" before turning to a "we
want Ryder" chant, with Rocky acknowledging the Ryder chant saying he's a
fan too. One fan yelled at The Rock "don't cry" which resulted in a lot of
laughter from fans and The Rock himself who assured the guy that he wasn't
going to cry. The Rock thanked the fans and said he's back to entertain the
people. He called November 20, 2011 as the greatest moment in the history of
his WWE career. The Rock then shook hands with fans and WWE employees at
ringside before heading to the back.

MICK FOLEY ON NBC's "30 ROCK"
- Mick Foley will be appearing on an upcoming episode of NBC's "30 Rock" TV
show after he revealed that he filmed scenes for it last week in New York.
Foley will be reprising his old WWE gimmick of Mankind for the episode which
also involves his first ever kissing scene! The hardcore legend is the first
wrestling start to appear on the popular NBC show starring Alec Baldwin,
Tina Fey and Tracy Morgan. Judah Friedlander, another cast member from the
show, was at the Survivor Series yesterday. Foley was also present but never
appeared on camera.

Survivor Series 2011

This Sunday November 20th 2011 the WWE will hold its annual Survivor Series PPV.   This year it will be at the world famous Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The main event will feature the return of the Rock to WWE in ring action as he teams with John Cena.  They will face the team of The Miz and R Truth.   I am sure there will be major issues between Cena and The Rock as they begin the major buildup to Wrestlemania 28 in Miami Florida.

Sin Cara vs Rey Mysterio

Reported by: Colin Vassallo, on Jul 22, 2011 - 9:32:06 PM

Last Saturday, just one day prior to the Money in the Bank pay-per-view, WWE held one of their supershows in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with both Superstars from RAW and Smackdown participating.

During the show, a battle royal was held and featured the first - and possibly last - encounter between Sin Cara and Rey Mysterio.

As both the masked Superstars wrestled in the ring showing off their athletic abilities, the rest of the wrestlers in the ring took a backseat to observe the showdown.

After jumping and flying around the ring for a bit, The Miz decided that he had enough and threw Sin Cara over the top after sneaking up on him from behind. The crowd booed big time and the Miz responded by taking a bow! Classic!

CHRISTIAN, CENA NEW CHAMPIONS AT EXTREME RULES
- Here are the results from yesterday's Extreme Rules pay-per-view which
took place at the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa, Florida: Randy Orton
defeated CM Punk in a last man standing match; Kofi Kingston defeated
Sheamus in a tables match to become the new United States champion; Michael
Cole and Jack Swagger defeated Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross in a tag team
country whipping match; Rey Mysterio defeated Cody Rhodes in a falls count
anywhere match; Layla defeated Michelle McCool in a loser leaves WWE no DQ
and no count-out match; Christian defeated Alberto Del Rio in a ladder match
to become the new World Heavyweight champion; Big Show and Kane defeated
Wade Barrett and Ezekiel Jackson in a lumberjack match to retain the WWE tag
team titles
; John Cena defeated The Miz and John Morrison in a steel cage
match to become the new WWE champion.

CENA ANNOUNCES DEATH OF BIN LADEN TO FANS AT EXTREME RULES
- Following his match against John Morrison and The Miz, John Cena went up
on the announce table and told the fans that Osama Bin Laden was killed.
"The President has just announced that we have caught and compromised to a
permanent end Osama Bin Laden," said Cena as fans in attendance erupted in a
massive pop. Chants of USA then filled up the St. Pete Times Forum as Cena
grabbed the WWE title and said, "This is something I feel damn proud to be
an American." Most fans in the arena had no clue about the news since they
were at the show.

THE ROCK'S BIRTHDAY PARTY LIVE TONIGHT ON RAW
- It is going to be a special Monday Night RAW tonight as the people's
champion, The Rock, will be on hand to celebrate his birthday and WWE has
promised that it will be the most raucous and entertaining birthday party
for the great one. The show will be held from Miami, Florida, The Rock's
hometown. The Divas have a special birthday present for him, a present that
according to a press release issued last week, he "will never forget." With
Cena now champion again and the two set to clash at WrestleMania next year
it is safe to say that Cena will have a present of his own for Rocky. "I got
him a special gift for tonight," wrote Cena on Twitter after congratulating
The Rock on a massive opening weekend for his movie Fast Five.

CHRISTIAN FINALLY WINS THE BIG ONE AFTER 9 YEARS, 2 STINTS
- It took him nine years and two different stints with the company, but
finally Jay Reso, the man wrestling fans know as just Christian, has finally
won the big one. At Extreme Rules yesterday, the former 9 time tag team
title
holder defeated Alberto Del Rio in a ladder match to become the new
World Heavyweight champion
, a title that was vacated by his best friend Edge
just two weeks ago following his retirement. Edge sort of interfered in the
match, coming out in a car and distracting the Royal Rumble winner, giving
enough time to Christian to recover and tip over the ladder - and Del Rio on
it. Christian then climbed the ladder himself to unhook the title. The two
friends then celebrated in the ring as fans showed their appreciation.
Christian won a total of sixteen titles during his WWE career up until
yesterday winning the ECW, Intercontinental, Tag Team, European, Hardcore
and Light Heavyweight titles. His seventeenth reign, which kicked off
yesterday, surely must be the most important one of his career so far.
