Today in the 62nd birthday of the "Nature Boy" Ric Flair (born Fliehr).
He is today considered on of the greatest pro wrestlers of all time and a legend/icon in the business.
Now every site is probably posting video of his best matches against Harley Race, Dusty Rhodes, Ricky Steamboat, Sting, Magnum T.A. and Terry Funk, but I would like to show you something different. Here is a video from a match involving 2 rookies, Ric Flair and Chris Taylor, the US Olympic wrestling champion. A young hefty Ric Flair as all the moves we recognize but Taylor had some great promise that was sadly cut short by a massive heart attack that claimed him at a young age.
My favorite part is Greg Gagne doing the announcing and trying his best to keep up kayfabe, but we all know that Taylor was the star they pushed originally and that is why Flair left for the south territories.
