 BROCK LESNAR RETURNS
- Brock Lesnar, the former WWE and UFC champion, returned on RAW
yesterday, interrupting John Cena and delivering an F5 as the crowd went
absolutely bananas. The rumors have been floating around since Friday that
Brock and WWE were close to reaching an agreement and Sunday at
WrestleMania everyone was expected to see the "next big thing" back on WWE
television. However that did not happen and The Rock went on to beat John
Cena clean, leaving the opportunity open for a RAW return instead. As Cena
was waiting for The Rock to come down, Lesnar's theme song hit the
speakers and out came the former champ to one of the loudest pops in the
history of pro wrestling. Lesnar offered to shake Cena's hand and Cena
fell in the trap, soon finding himself in the F5. This was Lesnar's first
WWE appearance since WrestleMania XX back in 2004.


 LESNAR TO MAKE AT LEAST TWO APPEARANCES A MONTH
- PWInsider.com is reporting that Brock Lesnar's deal with WWE is good for
one year and will go through WrestleMania 29 where he could very well be
the main event of the show. The deal according to sources is for a minimum
of two appearances a month plus more during the time leading up to
WrestleMania next year. The website also adds that while Lesnar is
expected to make around 35 appearances - so don't expect him at
non-televised events - there could be more if both parties agree to an
extension of the deal. Lesnar arrived at the arena yesterday in Miami less
than a minute before his music rocked the American Airlines Arena and
although it looked like it was the company's worst kept secret, the fact
that fans were waiting for him did not by any means take any from the pop
he received.


 ROSS SAYS TAKER, HHH, AND HBK, REQUESTED TO CALL HIAC MATCH
- By the time Jim Ross left his home to go to Florida, he thought he
wouldn't be a part of WrestleMania except for watching it like a fan. What
he didn't know was that the Undertaker, Triple H, and Shawn Michaels were
pressuring the powers that be to have him call the "end of an era" Hell in
a Cell match. And when three of the most successful and powerful
Superstars all want it, you bet your ass it's going to be granted. "WWE
upper mgmt made it happen. It was confirmed late Friday night," Jim Ross
wrote on Twitter, revealing that it was all three of them who requested
his presence ringside and to do play-by-play of the match.


 ORTON REMOVED FROM THE MARINE MOVIE
- Randy Orton will not be starring in the upcoming WWE Studios movie
Marine: Homefront, after the Marine Corps complained to the WWE about the
bad judgment in casting. Orton was a U.S. Marine when he was young and was
dishonorably discharged from the Crops for going AWOL on two occasions in
1999 and disobeying orders from his CO according to TMZ. The former WWE
and World champion spent 38 days in military prison for his conduct. "I am
disgusted that his face and the word Marine are being used next to each
other - real or fake - because of the fact that he quit us, the country,
and the Marine Corps. Randy in the role of a Marine is a disgrace to those
that have worn and are wearing that uniform," said a Marine who served
with Orton at the time he went AWOL. WWE quickly rectified the situation,
yanking Orton from the movie and admitting their "poor judgment" in
casting Orton for the film. "Despite Randy's popularity, the fact that he
was dishonorably discharged from the USMC made it inappropriate for him to
be cast in this film.

Today in Wrestling History January 26th

1987 - At a WWF television taping in Tampa, Florida at the Sundome, The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart & Jim Neidhart) defeat The British Bulldogs (Dynamite Kid & Davey Boy Smith) to win the WWF World Tag Team Championship. Manager Jimmy Hart knocked out Dynamite (who was injured and couldn't wrestle) with his megaphone before the match, and heel referee Danny Davis paid no attention to the Hart Foundation illegally double teaming Smith before counting the pin following a Hart Attack. This ended the Bulldogs' only WWF World Tag Team Title run, and was Bret Hart's first WWF championship of any kind.

1999 - Prior to an edition of Raw in Tucson, Arizona, WWF filmed an Empty Arena match in which Mankind pinned The Rock with a wooden palette on a forklift to win the WWF World Heavyweight Title.  The match was aired on January 31st as a "Halftime Heat" special, set up to air during halftime of the Superbowl. 





And Sadly today is the anniversary of the death of the legendary Andre The Giant in 1993.
