R.I.P. Terry Funk

Wrestling Legend Terry Funk has died at age 79

1944-2023

 Terry held a myriad of titles all over the world but the biggest was the NWA World Heavyweight Title.  He defeated Jack Brisco (December 9th 1974) for his one and only championship reign.  He held the title for 14 months before losing the belt to Harley Race in Toronto on February 10th 1975.

He was named the Pro Wrestling Illustrated's Wrestler of the Year for 1976.

He would also win the PWI Feud of the Year in 1989 vs. Ric Flair

The tragic passing of David Von Erich at young age of 25 while on tour in Japan. 

He was tabbed to be the next big  thing and probably win the NWA World Championship when back in the US.
